Hey folks! Welcome to Week 3 of my triathlon training series! (January 15, 2024 to January 21, 2024)
I am officially 27 weeks (and a few days) out from my the Spudman Triathlon scheduled on July 27, 2024! I already did my weekly weigh-in and workout plan, and now I am ready to get started with training!
Week 3 – Weight = 216.8 Pounds
This week has been a heck of a week. You already know that I’ve been doing therapy for a while now. Well, for over a year and a half now. The past couple of weeks have been a little bit rough for me. We have been working through some heavy stuff just since the holidays are over. It has taken a very big emotional and physical toll on my mind and body. So, I ended up not completing all of my training this week.
Luckily, we’re still pretty early in this, I’ve still got 27 plus weeks to go. Overall, I’m not worried about making up for these missed workouts. I just wanted to make sure that everybody that is following along understands that I’m made a decision to care for myself. I think the idea is you can’t always give 100%. You can give 100% of the time to one thing but it limits what you can do in the other things. So, this week in particular, and a little bit of last week I really needed to focus on taking care of me. I did not work out a lot and I ate a lot of ice cream and garbage food. But I also meal prepped a little bit just knowing that it was going to be a rough week. I’ve still had an abundance of ice cream and chocolate and all those things but, I’ve also eaten healthy food too. Meaning I have made a small step forward and found a healthier balance instead of just going all in on naughty, delicious food. Which has been a very bad habit for me for a long time. In case you were wondering… yes, I am a very emotional eater hence why I’ve put on a lot of weight over time.
Workout #1, 2, & 3 – So, I reassessed my training this week. I still wanted to get it in some fitness. So, I completed a brick workout on Saturday. A 15 minute bike, weightlifting and then 7 minutes on the rower. And of course some stretching and minor yoga poses.
Well, that wraps up week 3 of my training! It went about as good as I could have hoped. Now, on to my week 4 weigh-in!
